Song of the Cloud Forest

Henson's lost gem

I had this on the old version of my site, and recently had a request for it, so here it is again.

Song of the Cloud Forest is one of my favorite programs to come out of The Jim Henson Company. It’s the story of a golden toad living in the cloud forest, who wonders why he’s had a hard time finding a date when he suddenly learns his species is on the verge of extinction. In the course of the program, Milton learns to cope with his feelings on the matter, and even manages to find a date. Of course, he has to get her out of a cage first …

The unfortunate thing is that Song of the Cloud Forest has never been released in any form since it originally aired in 1989. The quality leaves something to be desired, but I’ve managed to get hold of a recording of the original broadcast and have created an AVI version that rings in at about 99MB. Until the happy day that Cloud Forest makes its way to DVD, this will have to do!

Heavens! Been a while since I’ve visited…and this place has changed a lot. Still looking goood though! :) If you even visit Virginia again let me know and we’ll romp around downtown again except this time we’ll get grande hot coffees before we do.
