Live Redesign In Progress

The blog section is pretty well finished, though I may yet make adjustments to layout. I’m thinking about reducing the width of the side menu, for example.

Need to get to the other sections now, but have things to do. Will work on them as I’m able.

Of particular note, I’ve setup Lightroom specific menus for that part of the blog, hopefully making it easier to access the various galleries and other items available there.

Beginning this evening, The Turning Gate is once again the unfortunate victim of a live redesign. I will try to keep content accessible as much as possible during the redesign process, but you may find things occasionally broken or missing. Please bear with me, and I promise all will be well shortly.

I liked the old design, but I like this one, too.

(My site is being redesigned right now, and it’s heavy on this green.)

p.s. I think that’s an original quote!

Hi Matt, I like the Art. Nice floral sketches, but why repeated several times on one page? The stones on the left – just wase of space.

Imo the Art should emphasize the content. But you hide the information, push it out from the screen…

IMO, previous design was the state of the art. Not current.

Hope it helps,
Regards,
Grafin.

Hi Grafin,

Criticism is helpful, thanks. I’m still working on things, but have spent the last few days coding behind the scenes, so nothing seems to have changed much. When I finish, the site should fit nicely within 1024 pixels, as I believe that’s the standard safe resolution these days. I plan to reduce the size of the stonework, as well as work on the appearance of the side menu florals.

Cheers,
Matt
