BACKLIGHT, Available Now!

We are pleased to announce the immediate availability of Backlight! The Store link will take you right to it.

I’m going to keep this very short, as we’ve already well covered the release in previous posts.

If you’re upgrading from CE4 or CE3, see here about your discount.

We have a guide for migrating your CE4 albums to Backlight.

Documentation is sparse, but that’s mostly intentional; we think Backlight is fairly intuitive to use, and it’s also full of tooltips and contextual information. Poke around a bit, and let us know in the forum if you need questions answered or problems solved.

Finally, we have a preview overview/tutorial video on how to get Backlight installed and set up in just a few minutes, so definitely check that out if you haven’t seen it, or need a refresher.

  1. Brilliant Ben and congratulations – I will be looking into this myself later – small question – is it just me or is it hard for all to read this font?

    • I think I might have gone too light on the font-weight. I’ll change it to 400 (from 300); that should help.

  2. Congrats on the launch. I’ve been waiting on Backlight with great anticipation. Since, by nature, I’m not an early adapter I plan to grab Backlight as soon as a few reviews come in or after I peruse the forum to see how stable it is. Love the concept of Backlight.

    • Fair enough, Frank. First review(-ish) thing you can read is Rod’s blog post, linked above. We look forward to your joining the ranks of Backlight’s users very soon. 😉

  3. As someone who still can’t wrap my head around creating a gallery through Lightroom (hold your judgement), I am BEYOND excited for Backlight!! One quick question before I dive in — is there a native Client Response system already built in? Or do we still need to set that up through Lightroom?
