CE3 Updates for Feb. 2014

updates-20140219

A hefty round of maintenance updates today, recommended for all users. The list of updated plugins includes:

  • 2014 HTML Gallery
  • TTG CE3 Auto Index
  • TTG CE3 Cart
  • TTG CE3 Client Response Gallery
  • TTG CE3 Gallery
  • TTG CE3 Pages
  • TTG CE3 Stage
  • TTG CE3 Theme for WordPress

Of note, we've made improvements to the Photoswipe script to provide a better and more consistent experience for Android users, who have suffered due to recently introduced bugs in the Android OS and Chrome browser for Android. Because of these fixes, I strongly recommend all CE3 users to update their gallery templates, blog themes, Pages installations, etc. These are important fixes for the user experience of your visitors.

CE3 Cart has received a solid round of improvements, now offering better Paypal integration, and the ability to offer download of non-JPG file types.

If upgrading from a previous version of CE3 Cart, you should:

  1. Damn, I’ve only just upgraded to CE3!! Apart from the Cart, I assume all other upgrades need to be added to LR and new user templates made or can I use existing LR templates in Template Browser/user templates?
    Barry

    • Your templates saved to Lightroom’s Template Browser are fine. You should update your plugins, then update whatever you have online. So if using Publisher, then update your gallery templates in /publisher/templates/.

      • Edward Levinson says:

I am not using Publisher but uploading my “gallery_index” folder (with everything in it) manually with my FTP app, after exporting the galleries and index file from LR to a designated folder on my HD. So in theory I should re-export all the galleries from LR and re-upload to take advantage of the update fixes? Maybe I should just buy Publisher :))

Also assuming all these will still work with Mac OS 10.6.8 and LR4.4??

Sorry currently not using Pages or Gallery, just Auto Index and Stage

        • Yes, you will need to re-export and re-upload everything. And yes, that makes it a very good time to setup with the Publisher. It makes these sorts of updates far easier.

Mac and LR versions will not be an issue.

  2. I have similar concern as above comment. After installing the new versions of Stage and Auto Index in the proper folder, do I need to “update” my custom templates I already for version 3??

  3. Hi Matthew, I have just updated my cart, which was working fine.
    i did as you instructed,
    1. Replace the following two directories within the cart directory on your server:
    – application
    – resources
    (I said overwrite when asked)
    2. Login to the admin console as Admin to run the update.

Now when I click on the cart I get.
Something went wrong (Error: jQuery18208535872910628619_1392801513862 was not called)
Please try again later, or contact the photographer if this problem persists.

When I run the diagnostics, everything is OK
This is happening in Firefox and IE

    Help

    Liam

  4. Awesome how much the galleries get updated! Every time I see an update to the cart though gotta admit I’m holding my breath hoping to see the a rollout of dollar amount coupons, as opposed to the current percentage based :) :) Every one of my portrait sessions includes a print package. I’d love to point my client to their cart gallery with a purchasing credit to get an order started. thanks
