Happy Lunar New Year, friends. It's a relatively quiet afternoon in Seoul today, and some new Markdown editors have been brought to my attention by Patrick Moll.
As you may already know, CE2 web engines support Markdown formatting in major content areas. Markdown is a text-to-HTML conversion tool for web writers. Markdown allows you to write using an easy-to-read, easy-to-write plain text format, then convert it to structurally valid HTML. The advantages of Markdown are that it doesn't require a special user-interface, and it's dead simple to learn.
But Lightroom really wasn't built for writing and editing lengthy blocks of type such as one might be authoring for a web page or gallery. It's often better to write in an external application, then to copy-and-paste your content into Lightroom's Web module. In choosing that external application, you may want to give these FREE Markdown editors a look.

Features include syntax highlighting, live preview, sync scroll, fullscreen mode, auto save, powerful actions, auto pair, custom themes and CSS, HTML and PDF export, enhanced CJK support ... a lot of stuff you don't actually need when authoring for CE2 engines, but also a lot of stuff that ought to be really helpful.
MarkdownPad is a full-featured Markdown editor for Windows. Features include instant HTML preview, keyboard formatting shortcuts, customization of colors, fonts, etc. and a "distraction free" mode.
