Matthew,
Can you refresh my memory, or better yet point me to a source—I know you have talked about this before—about what the effect of these updates are on re-creating my galleries? Will all my customizations carry over from 4.1.1 which I am using now?
I looked in the wiki, but I couldn’t find anything. It would be useful to talk about this there, perhaps in the installing engines section?
TIA.
Jon
If you saved templates, you can apply them to the new version. This update only affects Highslide galleries published for use with TTG CE2 Cart.
If you want to avoid exporting all of your existing galleries, you can export one gallery with cart support, then copy the new /resources/js/ttgcart.hooks.js file into each of your published galleries at that same location. That’s the only file changed from 4.1.1.
Wow, great tip, Matt!. Saves me hours of tedium re-exporting all my galleries and uploading them to my site.
I wonder—would it be feasible to allow us to create a path for resource files that are common to all galleries like we can with the phplugins, so all galleries based on the same engine can use the same set of files?
Jon
It’s possible using PHPlugins, but probably impractical and I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it. We’re going to be moving in a shared resources direction later in the year, but we have more groundwork to lay first.
Glad to hear that you are moving in that direction. I’ll be patient.
